  • About

The sunflower is native to South America. Today, sunflower seeds are mainly produced by Ukraine, Russia, and Argentina.

Sunflower seeds are harvested from the sunflower flower, which has bright yellow petals surrounding a seed center.

  • Features

The sunflower seeds selected by Farinart come from qualified sources, cultivated with care to ensure exceptional purity and optimal nutritional benefits.

This product is available raw, roasted or sprouted, and is offered whole, cracked or ground. It can be sourced from either conventional or organic farming. Our sunflower seeds are GMO-free.

  • Properties

Hulled sunflower seeds have a mild, nutty flavor and a firm but tender texture. They are widely used in confectionery and bakery to add texture and taste.

Sunflower seed flour can be added at a rate of 7.5% in combination with other cereal flours in a multigrain bread. This addition improves the nutritional profile of the bread, while giving it sought-after organoleptic qualities.

Sunflower seeds are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, including linolenic and linoleic acids. They have a high protein and fiber content, in addition to being a source of vitamin E and B complex, as well as minerals, such as magnesium, selenium, copper, iron and zinc. They also contain several phytochemical compounds, such as polyphenols and flavonoids.
